Birthdays on Moreton Bay

Birthday Boat Charter in Brisbane, done properly.

Not a party pontoon with a hundred strangers. A premium private day for up to 7: champagne on arrival, a gourmet lunch, snorkelling, secluded sandbars, and a boat that is entirely, gloriously yours.

6 hours, never shared Up to 7 guests Manly Boat Harbour or New Farm
Guests cheering around the cockpit table loaded with a fruit platter and pastries
Low aerial of the Axopar with guests on the bow anchored off Tangalooma beach
Overhead view of guests around a striped picnic rug with pastries, watermelon and baguettes

The birthday that doesn't need a venue.

Most birthday boat hire in Brisbane means a crowded pontoon, a fixed route and a bar tab. This is the opposite. The Axopar 24 carries your group and no one else, and the day goes wherever the celebration wants it to: snorkelling the Tangalooma Wrecks, a long lunch anchored off a sandbar that disappears at high tide, a swim in water so clear it looks tropical.

Champagne is poured as you step aboard. A gourmet lunch is already chilled and waiting. Captain Jeremy, a marine biologist who has spent years on this bay, handles everything from the helm, which means the host actually gets to enjoy the party too. A 5.0-star Google rating says the formula works.

How groups use it

Milestones, intimate days, and surprises.

The milestone

A 30th, 40th or 50th deserves better than a restaurant booking. Six hours on the bay with your closest people is the kind of birthday that gets retold for years.

The intimate celebration

Some birthdays want two people and a bottle of champagne, not a crowd. The Private Day for Two turns a birthday into a whole private escape.

The surprise

Tell Jeremy the plan and he coordinates it quietly: the timing, the anchor spot, the cake at the right moment. Decorations welcome, BYO anything extra.

No surprises

Everything's included. Just bring your people.

No empty esky, no BYO list, nothing to organise. Every Sea La Vie day includes:

Exclusive private use of the boat: no shared charters, no strangers
Captain Jeremy, owner-operator and marine scientist, hosting your whole day
6 hours on the water, with a flexible itinerary read to the day's conditions
Fuel and skipper
A gourmet French-style picnic lunch of cured meats and prosciutto, smoked salmon, seasonal fruit and fresh pastries from local bakers, served on a sandbar (lobster rolls from Sea Salt available on request)
A complimentary glass of champagne, offered on arrival, plus organic juices, water and soft drinks
All snorkelling gear, sized for your group
Towels
Marine-life guidance from someone who studies this bay
All route planning and logistics handled before you step aboard
A quick guest form after booking, covering swim confidence and gear sizes, so everyone is fitted and safe
No per-person ferry or tour fees: the price is the whole boat

Make a day of it: a professional photographer is available to join (partner-set rate). Everything else is already aboard.

Questions

Birthday charters, answered

How many guests can we bring?

Seven guests maximum, plus Captain Jeremy. The Axopar 24 is a premium day boat, not a party pontoon, and seven is where it stays comfortable, safe and genuinely luxurious. If your group is bigger, we are happy to suggest how to split the celebration across two days.

Can we bring our own drinks and a birthday cake?

Absolutely. Champagne and a gourmet lunch are already included, and you are welcome to BYO anything extra: your favourite wine, spirits, a birthday cake, snacks for the ride home. There is a fridge and ice aboard, and Jeremy will keep the cake safe until the moment is right.

Can you help organise a surprise?

Yes, and it is one of our favourite jobs. Tell Jeremy the plan before the day and he coordinates it quietly: the timing, the anchor spot, the cake appearing at exactly the right moment. As far as the birthday guest knows, it is just a beautiful day on the bay until it is not.

What if someone in the group gets seasick?

Moreton Bay is sheltered water, far calmer than the open ocean, and Jeremy plans the route around the conditions on the day. Much of the day is spent anchored at sandbars and islands where the water is flat. If anyone is prone to motion sickness, a standard travel tablet taken before departure almost always does the trick.

How does midweek pricing work?

Midweek rates apply automatically to Monday to Thursday departures, saving $100 to $200 depending on your group size. From $1,290 for two, $1,690 for up to four, and $2,200 for the full boat of seven. A 30% deposit secures your date and the balance is due 7 days before.

Give them a birthday they'll retell for years.
